About Mirāth
Grounding cultural exchange in academic rigor, ethical practice, and authentic human connection.
Our Academic Foundation
Mirāth was founded in 2023 by cultural anthropologists and technologists from North America and Saudi Arabia who recognized the limitations of superficial cultural exchange. Frustrated by stereotypes and tourist-level understanding, we created a platform for reciprocal, peer-to-peer ethnography, allowing women to share authentic narratives and challenge monolithic perceptions of their cultures.
The name “Mirāth” (مِرَاث), meaning “heritage” in Arabic, reflects our commitment to curating cultural traditions while co-creating new understanding for future generations. Our methodology draws from anthropology, intercultural communication theory, and digital ethnography.
Our Mission
To create an ethically moderated digital space where North American and Saudi Arabian women engage in reciprocal ethnography, challenge cultural stereotypes, and build authentic understanding through structured multimedia exchange and reflective dialogue.
Our Vision
A global community where cultural differences are understood as sources of collective wisdom, where women from diverse backgrounds forge transnational understanding through ethically guided, academically-informed exchange.
Our Core Principles
Reciprocal Respect
We cultivate mutual dignity and honor the complexity of all cultural backgrounds, creating space for nuanced difference.
Ethical Safety
We maintain rigorous moderation and privacy protocols, ensuring participants feel secure in sharing cultural vulnerabilities.
